With an ageing population, lawyers across many areas of practice can expect to encounter people with dementia. This short course busts the myths and misperceptions by providing an understanding about dementia. and equips lawyers with up-to-date knowledge and resources to work more effectively with clients diagnosed with, or at risk of, dementia.

 

About this course

This online, self-paced short course provides dementia-specific training for lawyers, with a focus on core knowledge and principles to guide effective and ethical professional practice. The course is based on the concept of a ‘dementia-capable’ legal practitioner, who encompasses attributes across four areas:

        1. Knowledge          2. Professionalism          3. Legal rights and risk          4. Capacity.

Equip yourself with learning and resources that can be readily implemented into practice.
