Plus UTS Privacy Notice 

Under this Notice, Plus UTS is also referred to as we, us or our. This Notice explains how we collect and process personal information for the delivery of enterprise learning programs (EL), events and information for and about corporate development and training.  

Collecting and using your information  

If you request information from us, including reports or information about EL, or otherwise engage with Plus UTS, we will collect your name and contact details to allow us to communicate with you. Additional information is collected and used for the following purposes:  

  • Reports, white papers and general information about EL opportunities: We collect information directly from organisations to provide reports, white papers and other general information about enterprise learning at UTS. Some information collected is personal information. For example, participant’s contact details, some demographic information and workforce needs. Other information may be obtained from existing UTS systems if relevant. This information will be used to evaluate what information might be of most interest to an organisation.  
  • Events: If you register for a Plus UTS or EL event, your information will be used to manage your registration and communicate with you about the event. We may also collect accessibility or dietary requirements to support your attendance. We may use photography, screenshots and content from events for future promotional use.   • Newsletters and keeping informed about Plus UTS or EL activities: Your information will be used to provide you information about our activities, initiatives, events, publications and news. You may register directly or opt in when registering for an event.  

When you provide us your name and contact details for these purposes, you will receive marketing communications from us unless you have opted out or unsubscribed. Refer to the unsubscribe section below.  

Information held will also be used for quality improvement and planning, including strategic planning for PLUS UTS, EL and the university, in relation to our communications and marketing strategies, or events and EL programs. This includes conducting market research. 

Who receives your information  

Your information may be provided to our service providers. We provide your information to contracted industry partners and service providers who support us and provide services on our behalf. This includes providers that manage our events; supporting / hosting our information systems or websites; support data quality or data visualisation and analytics; or distributing communications and surveys. Some service providers will store or access data outside Australia and in the cloud. When we disclose your information or it is accessed on our behalf by a service provider, we take measures to ensure our service providers treat your information in accordance with applicable privacy legislation. 

We will not otherwise disclose your information to other external parties without your consent unless a disclosure is required or permitted by law.  

How long will your information be kept 

Your information will be kept for the purposes referred to in this Notice, and in line with our requirement to retain records under the State Records Act 1998 (NSW).  

Your rights 

You can make the following requests by contacting the relevant contact listed below in this Notice: 

  • Request to access to or correct your information, or request more detail about how it is used.  
  • Request we stop processing your information or to restrict how your information is processed, including unsubscribing (see the Unsubscribe section below).  
  • Request we delete your information. Restrictions may apply to deletion request.  
  • Make a complaint about how your personal information has been handled.  

You can stop receiving communications from Plus UTS at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any of the emails we have sent you, or by contacting the relevant contacts below.  

Note: if you unsubscribe you may still receive communication from UTS if you have given your contact details for other purposes.
